Respite Camp Volunteers

Volunteer Respite Weekend

Each month from September through May we hold at least one Respite Weekend Camp. Volunteers arrive no later than 8 a.m. on Saturday morning for their weekend at camp, and after a brief orientation, campers begin to arrive. A variety of volunteer roles are needed for each Respite Weekend – cabin counselors, activity counselors, housekeeping/kitchen/maintenance volunteers, and other specialty volunteer roles.All volunteers must fully complete our online Volunteer Application, and all volunteers over the age of 18 must also complete a criminal background check. All of the application forms are available on our website, and no volunteer can be placed until all required forms are completed in full. Respite Weekend Camp Volunteers Needed PDF Print E-mail
This is a monthly program during non-summer months that gives an opportunity for a family to enjoy a weekend break from round-the-clock care often necessary when its child has a developmental disability. Counselors and qualified medical personnel will care for children in a multipurpose, heated/cooled facility at Camp CAMP located 10 miles southeast of Kerrville, Texas.

All volunteers must fully complete our online Volunteer Application, and all volunteers over the age of 18 must also complete a criminal background check.
