COVID-19 News

CAMP leadership is working to address the evolving COVID-19 pandemic with the health and safety of our campers, volunteers, and staff at the core of all our priorities.  CAMP’s response to the pandemic will evolve and we will communicate with the community here on this site.  We deeply value our CAMP community and wish each of you well and safe during this unprecedented time.

Staff Availability:

To ensure safe social distancing is practiced, CAMP staff began working from home as of Wednesday, March 18, 2020, and will continue to do so for the foreseeable future. Please know that working remotely helps all of us stay healthy and allows our team to care for their families and themselves.  As always, the CAMP team are extremely committed to those we serve and are working extended hours to ensure we have programming sustained for the future.

Program Updates:

As life in South Texas is dramatically impacted, there has already been an impact to CAMP.  Following Mayor Ron Nirenberg’s Declaration of Emergency restricting gatherings due to COVID-19, CAMP has canceled all program through May.  However, we continue to plan for summer as it is our sincere hope that all summer programs can safely take place.  In the meantime, the team is working on virtual programs for everyone to enjoy from the comfort of their own home.

Support CAMP!

At the request of Mayor Ron Nirenberg in response to the COVID-19 emergency, The Nonprofit Council and technology partner, GiveGab, have been working around the clock to provide an updated platform for all local nonprofits to receive emergency donations. This platform is now open for donations at bit.ly/BigGiveCAMP!
