Horseback
Horseback riding is a favorite activity year-round at CAMP! CAMP owns horses that live on the property and during the busy summer months, we are fortunate to have a few horses on loan from a dear friend of CAMP. Therapy saddles and safe, adaptive techniques are used to ensure campers of all mobility are able to participate. In many cases, we have a counselor who rides behind the camper to provide extra stability. The movement of the horse can build muscle tone in riders with physical disabilities and has been shown to improve cognitive skills as well, such as concentration and short-term memory.
